Emerging Conservative Leader Launches Campaign Against Rep. Ted Lieu

Community organizer and small business owner announces campaign in CA-36 against career politician and party line establishment congressman, Ted Lieu

REDONDO BEACH, CA (February 9, 2023) – Today, California conservative Steve Williams, a community organizer and commercial real estate broker, announced his campaign for U.S. House of Representative for California’s 36th Congressional District. Williams is challenging long-time career politician and party line establishment congressman, Ted Lieu.

“Every election cycle, entrenched politicians promise us the same things and point fingers at political adversaries. And every time, little is accomplished,” said Williams during his announcement. “It’s time for change. It’s time for a new generation of Republican leadership to step up, rejuvenate the party and be changemakers for the American people.”

Williams added, “California has been under one party rule for far too long. It’s time to break the stronghold of a complacent ruling class that feels no threat of political competition; an empowered, permanent political class that has restricted the power of California voters.”

“In the next election, I’m asking Republicans, Democrats, and Independents to vote for change, to vote for someone who will bring bold, new leadership to Congress. Someone who will step up, take responsibility, risk their reputation, work across the aisle to find real solutions and respect the American people by putting them ahead of special interest groups, corrupt political machines and social agendas that go against America’s core values.”

California’s 36th Congressional District encompasses the communities of Rancho Palos Verdes, Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills Estates, Harbor City, Lomita, West Torrance, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Westchester, Playa del Rey, Playa Vista, Marina del Rey, Del Rey, Culver City, Venice, Mar Vista, Palms, Cheviot Hills, Santa Monica, West Los Angeles, Westwood, Century City and Beverly Hills.
